Re: Show Us Your Amplifier/s!
The 1965 AC50/Essex cab and 1966 SS Cambridge Reverb were in a closet "out of sight, out of mind," and it dawned on me that there's a complete Vox back line to ponder here. The AC50 is a fine bass amp, I used it for years as my main amp. The SS Cambridge has great clean sounds, lush reverb, perfect for surf and instrumental stuff. The tube Cambridge reminds me of an AC10 twin that I had years ago. Someone replaced the original speaker with a powerful Celestion from the mid '70s (I can't remember the model #). It's a crushing amp; a hail of nails when you crank it. Sweet sustaining overtones, the whole bit.

[quote="Tommy"]My old (from 1990) Fender Princeton Chorus --- SOLID STATE!
Yup, who need those glowing lightbulbs in an amp. My solid state Princeton Chorus is thee best amp for my Rics. Far better than my Roland Jazz Chorus and VOX AC30. The Princeton is bright as heck, trebly, crystal clear, and full and lush (two speakers in this amp).
Go ahead. Laugh at the red knobs. Doesn't bother me. I love this amp. And so do my Rickenbackers.

From what I understand, the Fender amps with the red knobs are what Steve Cropper requests in his contract rider.

Re: Show Us Your Amplifier/s!
I have a new amp in my playing room.
Well, in fact it's not new, that 1970 Orange Matamp head was my first tube amp, back in 1980.
I had lending it to my best friend's nephew 25 years ago, and now, i have it back at my home, after have it serviced and with a brand new Orange cab.

Just added this beauty to my line up
Acoustic 320 and Matching 408 (4x15) cabinet
The 408 runs at 2 Ohms so I can use my Ampeg B-15 Head with it as well.

Hi all nice to meet you. I use a Peavey rig for the bigger gigs. An old 80's MKIV Head through a 1820 Peavey cab pushing 1x18" Black Widow and 2x10" Scorpions. I run a Fender Rumble 75 for small gigs.
This Peavey rig pumps that much air I could sell the excess to Beijing to improve their air quality, but heck is this sucker heavy!

Re: Show Us Your Amplifier/s!
my present amp is actually my son's little Crate Amp that he's not using anymore. It sounds pretty decent for use in the house.
I sold an Ampeg Gemini II and an Ampeg Porta-Flex B15-N back in the late 60's...wished I still had them...
I'm looking for another amp right now but for the time this works for me. I have a Crate PA-6 with a pair of Yamaha club speaker enclosures but only one is pictured here.

A classic '80s rig. Not for the faint of heart!Frobie wrote:80's MKIV Head through a 1820 Peavey cab pushing 1x18" Black Widow and 2x10" Scorpions.
Here's what I've been using on louder gigs lately. Got many compliments on tone at a blues gig last night.
