I guess the 1996 Rose Morris is the one with the 2 o'clock f-hole.
The 1 o'clock f-hole is a 325 export model. Here is a comparison of both.

Well you guessed wrong, Rodney. Read my earlier post, it's pretty clear.

Besides, both of the guitars you pictured are reissues, so it's beside the point.

Chris,

Please keep the forum in the loop on what you decide. It's a wonderful guitar, would be great to keep it in the community.

I've decided to sell my brother's 1964 Rose Morris 1996 guitar in Fireglo. From serial number made in May 1964.

Would appreciate knowing the most appropriate route to sell. Ebay, Reverb.com?? I can ship internationally, currently located in London

Needs to be played rather than sitting in the case.

I know it's fairly rare with only 24 made with the 2 o'clock f hole if the internet is to be believed.

In full working order - I've just had it checked out.

Nearly all original, no dings or dents.

Not the original Accent Trem Arm and screws missing on the bridge cover - but I do have the bridge cover.

Original case, but painted white.

Any advice welcomed

I'd highly recommend Reverb.com. Good luck!

I will eventually sell as I have other items of my brother's with far more personnel memories. I can't keep everything.

I need to establish a value for probate/inheritance tax and for insurance as now left in my house. Indicative UK prices is approx. £4000, dependent on condition. I'll have that assessed in the next few weeks. I have no need to hurry.
I would like to see the guitar if it is available for viewing in London.

Do you have a solicitor or a chartered accountant helping you with the estate? If not, I suggest you retain one and have him/her help you with contacts to appraise the estate.

I am a solicitor. The issue isn't IHT or any of that as there aren't sufficient facts and the seller is not a my client.

The issue is that I am around anytime but the person I need to see this guitar is my brother who really knows Rickenbacker--if there is a decent chance for a sale is only in London this weekend from the Continent.

It would be a shame to miss an opportunity like this but I understand the seller has his affairs to deal with.
