T I STRINGS
Will the TI flat wound strings unwind if cut and not bent over when fitting? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks Jeff
Re: T I STRINGS
Very likely. Are you using these for guitar or bass?
Re: T I STRINGS
Will be using strings on a 12 string ric. Ta
Re: T I STRINGS
Yes on my 660/12 or 360/12. Just not sure how to put the wound strings into the slots, as I usually cut 3'' longer and the leave about 1/4'' out of the hole them tighten up. Should I cut 3'' longer ,then pass thru' the hole then bend the ends over? Thanks. Jeff
Re: T I STRINGS
I always pass the full excess length through the hole, only to cut it off after I tune them to correct pitch, assuring there are minimal 2 preferably 3 turns of string around the tuner.
While installing I bend the excess part of string up for obvious reason

Re: T I STRINGS
Out of interest what is the difference between the TI flat wounds with the GB or JS prefix?? Thanks.
Re: T I STRINGS
Those differentiate between the “George Benson” strings and the “Jazz Swing” sets of their flat wounds. I use the Jazz Swing TI’s and I really like them. Better than Pyramids in my opinion. Unfortunately I do not know the differences between them.JeffM wrote:Out of interest what is the difference between the TI flat wounds with the GB or JS prefix?? Thanks.
