Hi guys,
I was looking at buying a new Rickenbacker from a dealer in the US (I'm in Australia) but then I realised with the fingerboard being made of rosewood, I might run into problems with CITES.
Will Ric dealers be able to provide CITES certification for shipping guitars overseas?

If it's a new instrument, they do not have any woods restricted by CITES. They use Caribbean "rosewood" which is not a true rosewood. It's also known as Chechen.
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Do you know how long this has been the case?
The guitar is 'new' but not sure how long its been on the shelf.

They switched to it in late 2011, so it's unlikely it would be that old. Get the serial number and you will know for sure...
