Under TRC Factory Notes.

Post by Guzzitd63 »

Someone over at "the other forum" posted this pic and was wondering who (or what) the mysterious "ML" is:
ML97.jpeg
I've often wondered the same. Here's mine:
ML.jpg
Mine is date coded to April of 1998.
He says his is a 1997.
If "ML" is a person, I wanna buy them a beer. :D
Does anyone have any insight?

haha.
I like it.

*edit* I really am hoping someone knows who this person is.
I don't imagine RIC has the employee turnover like a local convenience store.
However, it has been 20 years.
Maybe someone somewhere will know.

Probably, Maria Lopez.

Or, perhaps, Merrill Lynch.

Is the “ML” written on tape? What color is the dot under it?

Nope. Tape may have been placed over it to protect the writing during the finishing process, however.

Hi Maxwell. Yes, "ML" is written on Plain Ol Brown Masking Tape on mine (the Turquoise one).
The other bass (Fireglo) is in Australia. He gave me permission to post his pic here after he asked the question on TB.
It sure looks like it's written on masking tape as well.

How do you know this?
Do you have a "ML" bass as well?
PIcs to post?

My "winking eye" --- --- and my "dot" reference was intended to be an oblique reference to a lengthy discussion here a couple of years ago about guitar identification. It was really intended for jps, so don't booger up your guitar on my question/suggestion!

Yeah, no worries. That's not gunna happen. There's no "dot" under there.
There's no "dot" nor initials (nor masking tape) on my Mapleglo either.
The link was a fine read ... well, I read it. Thank you.

My '98 4003 is "ML" marked, too.
Maybe Mary Long? 8)
