Oddly Ride is responsible for selling Rickenbackers to a new crop of upstarts...I liked a few of their songs. Twisted folks have compared them to the Byrds which I've never understood. Funny if one hears a smidgeon of a fleeting Crosby type harmony and sees a Rickenbacker there ya go. In this particular tune volume of the guitars drop when the vox kick in/arrangements=w h i m p y . Always thought they were a bit contrived. unlike the La's.
I'd rather hear the La's representin UK guitar pop than Ride. I think Son of a Gun with an acoustic is more rockin than this!

John Power's solo stuff is great, three albums so far all worth a listen, and live the man is superb!
