Statue of a young Cilla Black unveiled outside The Cavern

On this date, 16th January 1957, which was a Wednesday, The Cavern Club opened its doors for the first time to paying customers. To mark the 60th anniversary crowds gathered on Mathew Street earlier today to watch the unveiling of a life-size bronze statue of a young Cilla Black by her sons.
