Robert,
The idea behind the register is to have as many units registered in the register to allow the RR forum members the opportunity to learn about production quantities of specific items, how early were they made, how many (roughly) were made every year, which country has most instruments, and much more...

When we collect instruments from eBay and other sources we are enlarging our sample size and offer people the opportunity to gather more accurate information.
We do that since most (I would dare to say 99%) of the people who buy these instruments online don't bother to register them and if we don't register them as collected items - their existence will be lost probably forever.
When someone buys an item online and sees that it is registered already: Unlike you, he simply takes the 2 seconds it takes and actually reads what it says when he tries to register an existing item:
if it is yours and you do not have permissions to edit it - please contact admin@rickresource.com

As for your EXTREMELY rude post:
We don't owe you anything and if you have comments/ideas/things you would like to see changed with anything that RR has to offer - you may post them in a civilized manner.
So long and thanks for all the fish!

The "I think I saw it's" should be placed in a holding pattern. Maybe given their own forum so folks on the prowl can find someone with a particular model for sale.

I had to do this last year for my November 1980 FG 620 / 12 that I had bought off Ebay. Someone had listed it as a collected item. A simple email to Peter and it was imemdiately assigned to my account... No questions asked.

Me I love the fact that we can Collect images and serial numbers - it is particularly important for vintage instruments that we create a database.. It may prevent someone getting burned if there are lots of images online so that you can compare a potential purchase.

BTW Nice to see a fellow Canuck here!
