Rickenbacker 325C58 MB One off HELP!
Hi, I'm new here guys and also a proud new owner of a 325C58 ! Anyway I recently Acquired this guitar from a guy who said he bought it at an Estate sale. I have some questions that I cannot find the answers to. First off this model is a Montezuma Brown finish, It has a lacquered fretboard, and it has a Trapeze like the 660 and the 350's instead of a vibrola. It has no serial number and the Jackplate and it is not the Elongated one either, it is the regular square jackplate. Everything else checks out, the tuners are the open back special rickenbacker gotoh's and there are no extra drilled holes anywhere it appears to have been built this way, no mods. Also at the 12th fret facing me, there is a red marking at the end of it. The owner said he believed it to be an 04' model, He did not have information as to who the Original owner was, but it is in great condition id rate it at a 9.5/10! If anyone has any info or can help me with this I'd really appreciate it! thanks

Welcome, Edgar!
IIRC, there were a number of one-off 325s made before (or maybe around the time?) the c58 series 'officially' came out (I think Paul W. has a 325/12 from that bunch). I remember seeing some of these for sale by Mike Parks (The Rickenbacker Page) way back when.
Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

Welcome Edgar. That is an odd one indeed. Please post some pics if you get a chance.

Interesting!

Welcome Edgar,
I believe there were ten short scale "one-offs" produced with 2004 serial numbers and I think only 3 had the Montezuma Brown finish. I own one with an f hole and 2 control knobs. There was also a 2 pickup 310 version with a Trapeze and an f hole. The third was a solid top 325 but I believe it was converted to Trapeze tailpiece by the owner. I believe the wiring harness was changed on that one as well. Here are links to threads with some details on these guitars:

Please tell us if there is a "NT #___" (number from 1-10) penciled inside the control cavity. this would make it one of the special run of 10 one-offs from 2002.

It's a beaut.
I really missed the boat by not picking up one of those from you-know-who back then. I probably couldn't have afforded it, but they're pretty groovy.

You mean this one?!
I'm not 100% sure, but I saved it as a "325 fake?" in December 2012:
