Newbie to the Register - 64' Rickenbacker Model1998

Hi everyone. Im new here, thanks for having me. I have recdently purchased a 64' 1998 and I hope and Im sure to be enlightened by the many members of Rickresource. The looks like some great stuff here!

Welcome to the RRF Gaz.A splendid guitar you have there.Ok so whats the thing under the Accent Vibrato that is poking out? or is that trick of the light.

Hi Scotty, many thanks for the welcome. Its curiously 2 bits of threaded bar jacking the string section of the accent up. Im too chicken to remove them right now its its playing really nice.

So it sounds analogous to "blocking" a Strat tailpiece to prevent it from moving. Is that correct?

It looks identical to my own (from May '64) - what month was yours made?

Hi Gary, thanks very much for that, yeah the trem is kind of locked. Its a little unsightly so I guess I'll remove next string change.

Hi Collin, many thanks for the welcome. Amazingly mines a May guitar too DE520. Amazing! Found a relative of mine already! :D We'll need to bake birthday cakes for next moths 50th celebration!
