Looking for the original owner ...

Hi All.

I bought a 4003s from a guy in North Carolina around 15 years ago.
The transaction was done on the old eBay auction site.
I have no access to those records ... in fact, I'm not sure I ever knew his name.

Anyway, fast forward 15 years and low & behold he's had the guitar registered all this time.
I do have access to those records and even his email address.
Would it be inappropriate of me to try to contact him?
I love this bass and would like to know more about its history.

The bass is S/N J5 4806.
It is an otherwise nondescript 4003s in Mapleglo.

Just send a private message (PM) to Peter (admin) or Gil (gibsonlp) and they will get it sorted for you...

To be more clear, I have edit and control privileges of the Register Entry.
That's how I know now what the original owners name is (and his email address.)

Surely it wouldnt be too intrusive to send a note to that email.

I know the original owner and I'm sure he wouldn't mind receiving a note from you. He's quite the Rickenbacker enthusiast.

Oh thank you so much!
I was wondering if someone might know him.
I figured he liked Rickenbackers enough to register the instrument.
I'll send him a note.
Thanks again. :D

I'm not 100% clear on how the registry works... you originally registered it, then sold it, and are able to see the new owner's private info? Do I have that right?

No you do not have access to newly registered information regarding email addresses. But if you remember the person you sold the instrument to or see them on the RRF because you are both registered you can email them or send a PM to ask questions. Also when instruments are transferred the initial registrants information may have been recorded under the remarks section. Is this what you mean?
