Who Is The Man Of Mystery?

I have always wondered about the Man Of Mystery theme. The Shadows' recording certainly has a mysterious quality to it and reminds us of the methodical hunt for the perpetrator of the crime. The tempo has, however, always seemed to fast for the listener to reflect completely on the theme.

I have only recently discovered that this melody was written for a mystery show from the very beginning.

So who is the man of mystery? You can find the original version of the song here.

Has anyone listened to Randy Bachman's version of this great tune? It's turned into my current favorite.

Hi

The song was written as theme music for a TV-series which was on air 1959-1965 in UK. The series was based upon the criminal mystery books by Edgar Wallace (1875-1932), and there was no main character starring , so I guess one could say that The Man of Mystery actually IS Edgar Wallace
