Do you guys find the tone knob to cut the volume on your (bass) toaster?
Re: My new toaster pickup seems wrong.
No, it does what it is supposed to. Are you sure everything is wired up correctly?

Well yeah I think (thought) so, but thats kind of the reason for this thread.jps wrote:No, it does what it is supposed to. Are you sure everything is wired up correctly?
It's wired exactly the same way as the High gain was - and now is.
If I was doing something wrong then I'll try it out again someday- the PUP swap only takes about 30 minutes.
It's possible that it was set too low. I was very confused when I looked at the bas of nuts and bolts supplied - it looked very "guitar specific" with wood screws and 6 rubber grommets. I installed with the existing nuts and 2x rubber grommets.
Shoulda taken some snap shots I spose.

Ask Sérgio, he is da man for the Rick-PU/electronics-questions!vin*tone wrote:Do you guys find the tone knob to cut the volume on your (bass) toaster?
Re: My new toaster pickup seems wrong.
Okay. From my limited experience, if a tone control affects pickup volume, it can only mean the wrong capacitor has been used on it. Anyone?

A really good picture is worth a thousand posts speculating.
