"You can't lie to a liar" appeared on the Searcher's fifth album for Pye.

The writing is credited to Hanpton,Churchill (Your Guess is as good as mine) it seems clear however it is not written by The Searchers

I have a 'live' version of this song on a compilation album by Joe Brown. Good version.
If it ain't broke, don't mend it.

Since I was the one who posed this question, I thank all of you who helped me try to answer it. It seems that the "Curtis-Pender" credit on the Kapp LP is a mistake.
