Pete Best Comments on The Searchers

I had the opportunity to speak with Pete Best on September 12, 2000 and he had interesting and positive comments to offer with regard to The Searchers. He acknowledged their popularity in Liverpool and that he had first known them as a "country and western band." For the benefit of the audience he added that a split in the band had resulted in the "John Mac Searchers" and the "Mike Pender Searchers."

It is of interest to read that Chris Curtis gives a positive review of Pete Best in his 1997 interview with Spencer Leigh for the Record Collector Magazine. I guess drummers stick together.
