RJHC: I am doing the research with regard to your question and hope to be able to provide you with a meaningful answer in the next short while. This question turns out to be somewhat difficult for me as I do not have this album. Tim??

For RJHC. Please note that The Searchers' Forum has left no stone unturned in its relentless pursuit of finding the lyrics of "Dont You Know Why" from The Searchers' 4th Album by Kapp. This is thanks to the kindness and diligent efforts of a fan of their music.

Don't You Know Why

Don't you know your treating me so bad, love
Don't you know it makes me feel so sad, love
Why lie, to torture me
Why you laugh, and make fun of me
Why you laugh, why you lie
Don't you know why

Don't you know what makes me act this way, love
Don't you know the funny things you say, love
Why I try, to please you
Why I sigh, to be near to you
Why I sigh, why I try
Don't you know why

It's love, and it's hear to stay
It's love, with it's funny ways
It's love, and I hope you see someday

Don't you know what makes the world go 'round, love
Don't you know it's happiness we've found, love
Why men die, and fight for it
Why men live, and cry for it
Why they live, why they die
Don't you know why

It's love, and it's hear to stay
It's love, with it's funny ways
It's love, and I hope you see someday

Don't you know what makes the world go 'round, love
Don't you know it's happiness we've found, love
Why men die, and fight for it
Why men live, and cry for it
Why they live, why they die
Don't you know why

Over the years, a number of people have written down the lyrics to Searchers' songs (me included). There has also been some of the sheet music published (mostly back in the 60s, but recently a 'Searchers Hits' was issued about 18 months ago here in the U.K.). It's the first time though, that I've seen anybody ask for "Dont You Know Why".

Tim: I am always amazed when I ask people to list their favourite Searchers' songs. While the hits are always listed, there are also a number of songs that have had personal significance that continue to be treasured no matter how obscure I may consider them. This is the magic of The Searchers. The ability to create unique recordings, choosing terrific melodies and percision harmonies that produce timeless classics.

Peter: We ran a 'Searchers All-Time Top Ten' competition in the fan club magazine some years back. As you say, the results were surprising.

Tim: As the results are in an edition of the Searchers' Fan Club Magazine that I am assuming is now long out of print, would it be possible to post them here under a more relevant topic in this forum such as "Searchers' All-Time Top Ten"?
