Sorry to say I had to Wiki him.

"Pushin' Too Hard" was a big hit up here, though. I vaguely remember it's presentation on American Bandstand.

It seems like he was crazy - but good crazy, like us.

He was definitely out there, constantly on late 60s psychedelic mode, but a really nice guy the few days I spent hangin' with him. I really dig the Seeds, with their borderline nervous breakdown meets jilted love vibe. Another notable tune was "Can't seem to make you mine", which I think was a hit for them, was covered by the Ramones on their "Acid Eaters" album,(which included The Whos "Substitute" with Pete Townshend on backup vocals). "Evil Hoodoo" is one of my faves, definitley challenging the borders of reality by "Sky"diving in to the land of Lysergia.

Big bummer man :(

"Nervous melt down meets jilted love vibe" That's spot on!

Saw The Seeds several times at Bito Lidos in Hollywood. The last time was at an assembly we sneaked into at San Marino High School, CA..very upscale public school. Some of my fellow sneakers called out for the band to play an instro they did called Acid...the band obliged...
