Texas & The Blues

Post by wmthor »

Texas offers a specialty license plate that honors the state's musicians. The first artist chosen was not Willie Nelson, Buddy Holly, or Stevie Ray; it was Blind Lemon Jefferson.

For $30, $22 of which goes to the Texas Music Foundation, Texans can have the following:

IIRC, this plate was first offered in '04. I remember asking Anson if he was going to get one for the bus; definitely a very hip thing on behave of the state of Texas. I think it'd be a great way for other states to raise revenue as well, such as Louisiana, Mississippi and Illinois.
