Your favorite songwriters?

Post by JakeK »

For the 5 years I've been here, I haven't seen a single thread on favorite songwriters, so let's drum one up!

For me, in no order:
Ray Davies
Bob Dylan
Tom Petty
George Harrison
Jeff Lynne
Pete Townshend
Gene Clark
Neil Young
Johnny Cash
Lennon & McCartney
Brian Wilson
Paul Simon
Tracy Chapman

Now let's hear yours...

Tracy Chapman?

Really?

VERY COOL!

That was the only surprise in that group for me Jake!

I didn't think too many folks remembered her!

Ah, my list is LONG and kinda strange. I'll get back to you on that!

Oh yeah, Tracy Chapman's got some great stuff - I was listening to "Telling Stories" just yesterday...

Good stuff Jake, I'd add Elliott Smith, and Jeff Tweedy as well.

Lennon and Harrison.
Practicing what they created. And for the band listening and learning from what's all around. That is my workout.
