The Rolling Stones at Glastonbury 2013

Post by hamilton_square »

The Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts was first staged in 1970 in a field belonging to farmer Michael Eavis in the Somerset village of Pilton in the South-West of England. After 43 years of trying promoters of the annually held open-air festival finally managed to book the Rolling Stones for this year’s event.

Last night (Saturday, 30th June) the Rolling Stones performed a two-hour set featuring 20 numbers on the festival’s main Pyramid Stage. Also featured in the group’s line-up for several numbers was one-time band member Mick Taylor.

The last hour of that 2-hour live set was simultaneously broadcast both on BBC TV and Radio.
