The Kids Are Alright (incomplete)

Post by DoubleThink »

I'm throwing this out to the wolves, because I need some incentive. I have a whole weekend solo, so time in the studio.

I started this a couple of years ago. It's recorded with a 360/6, a 370/12, a Gibson '68 EB-0 bass, a rancid old keyboard I found by the side of the road (gutter keys, really) that does midi, a Ric 350/360 copy loaded with three Silvertone pups & build by a dear friend from a table at NSCAD, and Garageband. The drums are programmed beat by beat. Massive parts of the tune are missing, I'm sure you'll notice, and there are no vocals. I'm not sure I can sing the vocals I've set up. I've taken artistic licence and interpreted with this recording, but that's what music is all about, right?

Here's something: I actually programmed the drums whilst travelling home across the Canadian winterscape avec mon amour chérie dans un train de VIA Rail à Noël.

Thoughts?
