Aaaah... Squire + Hackett = Squackett. I get it now. I'm totally out of the loop on this project - and a new 2012 release, too.

I definitely see the 'Kashmir' connection, too. And they definitely prog it up a bit in the middle beyond the consistent core of Kashmir. Great playing by Squire & Hackett!

I just noticed that the original link I posted is now dead. ????? Not sure how I managed that, but here's another link:

I checked out Squackett's 'Storm Chaser', too. Also cool, and this song reminds me of Yes in their Trevor Rabin era. Chris's bass sounds very much like his Rick on this track, but on 'A life In A Day' it sounds like it could be a different bass. Any theories or info on which basses he's playing on the songs?

IIRC, from another post, the first two tracks are the Mouradian.

Interesting. I'll have to see if I can track down the 'Squackett' thread that I assume is already going here.

for the track "LWAD", Chris used the original first Mouradian, for "tall ships" ,it was an unknown Yamaha prototype, the rest of the album was, well, you know....that same old thing he's been toting around all these years.... :D
I would love to see the yamaha bass he used . I am currently kind of intrigued by a discontinued Yamaha, the rbx4a2.

Is that the bass he designed with the extended fretboard to go B-E-A-D? There are a couple of unique basses he demo'd in the Starlicks video. I haven't been able to find any clips from it on Youtube yet.
