The Delay LP - The debut LP from my band + vinyl!
I've been playing with The Delay since 2007. We have released about 5 EP's along the way, though in the last few years, our output has been spotty as our band leader/singer/songwriter was away at school. Still, we managed to have some very productive spurts of shows along the way.
When we were really firing on all cylinders, we were playing gigs just about every weekend and our setlist was always this LP, in full, in order, which we just continued to perfect and flesh out.
At the height of a particularly good run, we went into the amazing Carriage House Studios in Connecticut and cut our LP live.
That was in August 2010.
In the two years since, we have been largely inactive except for a show or two. Though we're all very close friends, life has just gotten in the way, other bands have gotten in the way, plus the mixing and mastering process took a very long time as we tried to figure out we were going to afford the engineers.
But it was worth the wait. Here it is. PLEASE listen loudly.
This is also available for pre-order in 180 gram vinyl! I heard the test pressing through some great speakers and it knocked my socks off. The detail was just astounding.
Enjoy!
P.S., I was going to preface this by saying that I didn't use any Ricks on the recording (tried to use 360/12 but it wouldn't hold tune), but I just remembered that our bassist Dave used my v68 through a roaring vintage SVT & 8x10. He's been playing a 4001 ever since.

Just listened to the whole thing nonstop. It sounds great, even on my ****** little computer speakers. Kudos,JB!
Ps is your band called the Delay because of your copious use of digital delay? That was one BIG sound ya got going there.

Downloading the digital LP--good music John! I think you did a good job with the YT video as well, in terms of giving people opportunities to connect with your band further besides enjoying the music and giving you hits. Only thing I think you might want to consider adding is a mechanism to get people on an e-mail list to get the free download. The band Signal Path introduced me to that concept and they use it very effectively. I always know when they're going to be in Denver now.

Great stuff, Biscuti! There's a lot of nice diversity in what you guys did here, great dynamic album as a whole. Cool sounds, delay or otherwise!

I'll echo Mark's comments ("+1" seems so lazy). You guys did a great job on these songs.walker wrote:Great stuff, Biscuti! There's a lot of nice diversity in what you guys did here, great dynamic album as a whole. Cool sounds, delay or otherwise!

I realize I'm rather late to this thread (actually, I'm late in finding this entire RRF subforum ), but work was slow this afternoon so I just listened to the full album and wow...very, very cool. Kudos JB If you guys ever play DC or Baltimore, let me know!
