Works in progress...

Post by Dom »

Hey all! I shuttered my old band this year & concentrated on solo recording. Not done yet, but I have stuff that I can show. Doing all the work myself late at night while the kids are asleep & had to build an iso with a 10" Marshall cab & cushions...gets the job done. I'm the guy who put the piezo buzzer under my Fireglo 370WB's bridgeplate. Just like for the last 18 years that is the guitar on all these. Who knows why I even own other guitars. I can tell you that they're all jealous.

"Freeway" here is written about seeing a guy screaming at the freeway while on my way to work. Please excuse the scratch drums & vocals. I actually do not like the solo so it may just go completely. You can hear the piezo in full effect.

"WEgo" is a song about your Ego coaxing you but being tired of taking the blame for all the (insert your own synonym for feces here) that you do at the same time. What a jerk really. I built a 9 volt 1/4watt noisy cricket amp which is that really growly slide tone you hear. Again, placeholder drums.

"With You" is the first thing I really did on Ableton Live. It has scratch vocals, placeholder lyrics & midi drums...haven't had a moment to get the real ones down. The main loop that plays throughout (loop alone at the beginning) is a live take I built up over time in my line 6 looper, This includes the fake drum ("click" sound) all the background vox & the 360WB is also the "bass". I double the "bassish" with a real one later.

Thanks! My solo stuff is unfortunately on hold since I can only be loud on the weekends and the new band is taking priority.
