Do you use a Mac? If so, GarageBand (which comes standard on one, already) with a decent small interface will do some real magic.

I wish I could afford a Mac. I'm typing this on a PC. And some time ago, I downloaded Audacity. I suppose I ought to look for a newer version just to see if they've made any changes.

I can't help you on the Audacity thing as I have never used or even seen what it is like on someone else's computer.
