1976 Univox Ric 4001 Bass Clone

Post by dph »

Rickenbacker 4001 clone, made in 1976 by Univox under the “Stereo Bass” model name. “Mapleglo”.

Univox Ric clones were built to nearly the exact specs of the American Rickenbackers, and matches closely in feel and look. This particular bass gets even closer due to the Ric High-Gain pickups and Ric (Shaller) tuners w/ “Rickenbacker” indented on each one. Ric truss rod cover.

It’s got a few minor dings, etc, after 29 years of playing, but the overall condition is very good. A really fantastic bass.

Neck-through body, straight neck with low-ish action, light fretware, and a very authentic Ric look and sound. This bass has two inputs: mono and stereo. IN stereo mod, each pup is ported to a separate channel. The neck shape is very comfortable.

I would consider a trade (+/- $) for a 70s Jazz RI, P/J, or Marcus Miller sig bass.

$500 OBRO Shipped to lower 48. Pls e-mail with questions.
