Earthquake in NZ

Post by kiramdear »

Seems like this area of the world has taken more than its fair share of natural disasters lately. I hope all our Aussie members are all right, and I feel sorry for all those non-RRF folks who have been affected by today's quake in Christchurch.

Been watching it live on the news here! It is frightening.
New Zealanders are just 'geographically-challenged' Aussies in reality!
The ANZAC spirit is alive and well.
Australian search & rescue squads are on their way as i type. This region of the world is copping an absolute hiding at the moment.

My Mum is over there at the moment. I'm meant to be over there as well but my passport has not arrived...
Usually an earthquake in New Zealand is not a big thing. They are common and New Zealenders are generally well prepared.
But this......

Regardless of how well prepared one might be… this sucks! First floods and storms in Australia followed by fires and now New Zealand is a shakin! My thoughts and prayers are with you all down under.

Yeah, earthquake along with flooding in NZ, not good. :( Looks like a lot of damage...

I guess I'm kinda glad the job I was looking at last year didn't materialize as I would have been living in Christchurch right now. I sure hope there aren't too many more deaths and they get all of the trapped people out OK.

And yes, there are a couple of Kiwis forum members, sure hope they're OK...

Eden, I sure hope your Mum's OK too.

We wish the very best outcome for all those in New Zealand who have been impacted by this quake.

I hope your mum is OK Eden. Greg IIRC you have friends there too. What a worry this is for those of us who have relatives and friends there. :(

Brian, i have many friends in NZ, also family. With the aid of facebook etc., i've been able to confirm they are all safe. Thanks mate.
Joey, I'm fairly sure Trotty will be involved somehow.
