For me,

US: Don't Break the Heart that Loves you - Connie Francis
U.K.: Wonderland - The Shadows

I was born a bit before the British Invasion officially started.

Didn't do the song yet, but thought this was interesting.
On my B-day.

1966, The Jimi Hendrix Experience played their first gig as a band supporting French pop star Johnny Hallyday at the Paris Olympia in France.

OK here's the Songs:

USA - Reach Out I'll Be There - The Four Tops

UK - Distant Drums - Jim Reeves

Here it is:

Carol Kaye played electric bass with hard pick sound (same as many of the Beach Boys songs) and another fellow played a big double bass for the descending eighth notes. Not sure how many songs feature an electric and string bass with different parts.

Everyone was listening to "Urg Killed a Brontosaurus" when I was born. Then they ate it!
