Vintage "Lightshow" Rics
Vintage "Lightshow" Rics
Does anyone have nice pics of the "lightshow" Rics? If someone has already posted - forgive me - am a new member and couldn't find the listings. Would also love to hear from any members who own one of these very rare birds or who had owned one in the past....

Here's a photo from a recent "Lightshow Summit" we held at Paul A's house during a post jam Sunday brunch. Kenny's on the right is a Vintage model, mine in the center is one of Paul W's conversions, and Collin's on the left is a FortuneGuitars conversion.

Holy Smokes! Those pics of those Light Show Rics are unbelievable! Thank you guys! And to you, Paul - you actually make these special Rics too!? Wow! I thought it was amazing enough you kept the Acoustic Rics going! What else can/do you do in the way of Rics?? Those Custom Lightshow Rics of yours are real gorgeous works of art!

That must have been a real fun get together Dan, at Paul's house! Surrounded by all those beautiful and one of a kind Rics AND getting to play them on top of that! Wow! : Rickenbacker Heaven....I imagine Paul's collection of Rics must be mind blowing!

None of the Lightshow models is mine; I have a double bound model fetish; 360 WBs in Red (Larry Davis refin from MG), Azure Glo Blue, Turquoise, and a Blue Boy with checkered binding (Fortune Guitars conversion), and matching birds eye maple 381s in six and 12 string models.
The company was great, and it was super cool to see three lightshows in action.

Yo, Rich--thanks! It's kinda cliche, but you can't deny the appeal of those fat-bottomed girls!

Re: Vintage "Lightshow" Rics
Kenny, why are the panels shaped like that at the bottom? Is there no ramp on your guitar?

Re: Vintage "Lightshow" Rics
Original LSs have flat fronts. And although they have a 330's profile, they are 1/2" thicker than a 330 to allow for the height of the incandescent bulbs.kiramdear wrote:Kenny, why are the panels shaped like that at the bottom? Is there no ramp on your guitar?
