Everything (almost) is color coordinated, you should be an interior decorator; you can hang Ricks on the wall as art.

Yes! And it looks like walnuts on the coffee table to match the walnut finish! :D

Another 480 with Gibson knobs and humbuckers. Goes to show the primary train of thought when these guitars came out and partly why they didn't take off.

Unfortunately that train was on the wrong track and some poor 480's were its way.

Yeah... Apparently, 480's must have become really popular lately, the prices sure seem to be up, even on trashed ones...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Yet it's probably at the bottom of the list for a reissue. :(

I don't think a 480 reissue will be coming... not in my lifetime, at least.

Well, there was that one-off 481/12 that was on ebay last year. At least one person at Ric was inspired to do it. :D But agreed, I don't see them doing anything then possible one-offs or concepts. :(

Yet another humbucker'd 480. That's the 4th or 5th in the last couple of months.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1972-Ri ... 4ab342652a

But check out the hard case on this thing. It's unlike any Ric case i've seen and it's form fitted. Custom made or oddball Ric case? It's a 1972 model which means its a very very early production guitar.

Erik, I'm betting that is not a oddball Ric case, but rather some other brand (Vox?) that has been modded to fit the 480. Notice the cloth on top is orange-yellow and doesn't match (I re-lined a Vox case that had that same color). I can't tell if the neck hi-gain is one of the early skinny screw pin ones from these photos, but if original, it probably is.

Over $2K for a hum-@#%^&*ucker'd 480!!!???? PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
