I have the same book, the bass looks great in that color. So the way the neck is set is not typical for WB basses. Did they change it at a certain point in time maybe?

Maybe they used other (4001s?) set neck necks at some point?

I never noticed the difference in headstocks, such as between the FG and BB in a previous pic. When did RIC change the headstock design? The BlueBoy does not have as big of a curl.

Wow, that is a bump. I think you better ask this question in the basses section of this forum as hardly any one ever passes by in the Netherlands Chapter.

I never saw this posting before, so I will now add to the "bump" and say:

1) The Burgundyglo 4005 you folks are referring to is from the Ric Museum. I played that bass a lot, it's aces.

2) A WALNUT 4005! NICE!!!

I'm very happy I have this 4005 inbetween all my different Rickenbacker (sound)'s. But whenever it needs a refret (and refinish of the fretboard) it will not stay WAL. Brown's, Yellow's, Red's and anything inbetween just are not my favorite colours.
