Sound Affects
Anyone else got their 30th anniversary, two-disc edition of The Jam's Sound Affects yet?

Is it their best album?
Maybe, hangs together well even after all these years.

Re: Sound Affects
Does the 30th anniv version have the Flexipop single version of "Boy About Town" as an additional track? That one's arguably rated as a better version than the one on Sound Affects.godber wrote:Is it there best album?

I am on a student's budget; no anniversary CD for me.
That is a really cool album. The only song on side two ("sides?!" ooh, am I dating myself? ) that I wonder why they bothered to lay down on all is "Music for the Last Couple"; classic example of filler IMO. The Gift has one or two that are as well; "Trans Global Express" comes to mind.

Re: Sound Affects
Pop Art Poem...now there's a strange track ha!
I've still got the flexi-disc.Kid walks down the street
Bumps into emptiness
Pow!
Kid looks at the sky
Looks at his watch
Decides to go home
Zap!
Kid spies pretty girl
Walks up to her
Kisses her
On the mouth
Where else?
And all day long I was thinking
I was thinking this, that and the other
And...
When!
So am I
I made this up as I went along
It's good innit?
Re: Sound Affects
I suppose Weller was listening to a lot of northern soul and incorporated a little(a lot! lol) of World Columns So is the sun.you cant beat the orginal i suppose its classic.paologregorio wrote:The Gift has one or two that are as well; "Trans Global Express" comes to mind.
