Rickenbackers in Spain: the second hand market

Post by miguel »

What if you live in Spain, want to buy a Rickenbacker, but have just discovered that there is not a spanish distributor right now? Well, first try to find any new Rick in the music stores. Surely you won't find any, but try it anyway, you'd never know what you could find. Your second option is the second - hand market. Many people are selling their Ricks due to the economic and financial slowdown. Most of these guitars and basses are quite new. I have found a 2007 Blueburst 360, with vintage pickups, for 1690 euros (USD 2272), a Jetglo 330 for 1500 euros (USD 2017), a Fireglow 660 with toasters for 1750 euros (USD 2353) and a John Lennon Limited Edition for 4000 euros (USD 5370). There are also several 4003 for 1500 - 1700 euros. Good luck!

Sometimes, you may find a vintage one, too.
Last one I saw was a mapleglo 615 '67, they were asking something like 2.300.-€

You can see part of it in this shot, Miguel.
It looked as it was in good shape for his age:

We agree: I'm sure the black one would not be our first choice from that pic

If they had sold the one in the middle and there were only two left, I would have to take the black one!
