I rolled that list off the top of my head. I'll probably have an updated list soon.

I've seen a 4003 JG in a rack in the clubhouse. I'll assume it is Ron's. Howie had a, what I think was, a 4001V63.

Wow, Tom Petty's Ric collection is almost as nice as Graham Griffith's! 8) Thanks again, Jake, for sharing your store of knowledge. :D

You might like this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNUWlrKaWkA

It looks like Mike has it strung standard rather than flip string Ricky style.

Great thread! Hard to believe but I have never seen Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers live. Next time they visit the Boston area, I'm going, hell or high water. Have quite a few acts that have made it onto the 'bucket list'. What a delicious tone.

This bass shows up on Mike Campbell's "Guitars" segments at Tom Petty.com. You have to be a member to watch but this link will take you to the episode in which Mike talks about a couple of Ricks. Although he doesn't specifically refer to the bass, it is in the video. http://www.tompetty.com/news/mtitle/mik ... und-part-1

Some nice Petty Rickenbacker pics in this article on yesterday's show in Stockholm. The article's in Swedish, but you can still enjoy the pictures... 8)

A really good show. Had lousy seats so that was a bit a bummer, but that band is tight and Petty is a great songwriter, that's for sure.
