Anyone interested about "Torpedoes: Deluxe Edition"?

Post by JakeK »

As October 12 comes near, very little information has been leaked out about "Torpedoes: Deluxe Edition". The album is supposed to be remastered, but I thought the 2001 HDCD remaster by Joe Gastwirt was good. The only thing I can think of is if there will be bonus tracks, in a sense, the album could go like this:

Disc 1:
Tracks 1-9, original album
10. Casa Dega (B-side of "Don't Do Me Like That")
11. It's Rainin' Again (B-side of "Refugee")
12. Surrender (a tape box on the "Classic Albums" documentary on "Torpedoes" revealed that a version of this song was in the running at one point or another)
13. Here Comes My Girl (extended version, the "Classic Albums" documentary showed TP, Campbell and Jimmy Iovine listening to this song past the fade out, which goes on for a considerable amount of time, with an interplay of lead guitar and piano, ending with Benmont saying, "I wanna do it again!". There was also an alternate vocal for the first verse, don't know if that will be used)
14. Even the Losers (extended version, "Classic Albums" played this song past the fade out, too. The song didn't take very long to cease and had a final chord on which the song ended)
15. Don't Do Me Like That (Mudcrutch version, the "demo" Jimmy Iovine heard in 1978 when wanting to the Heartbreakers to make a contemporary remake)
16. Ways to Be Wicked (although the "Playback" boxed set features a version of this song, that was recorded during "Let Me Up (I've Had Enough)". It was said a "Torpedoes" version was recorded)

Disc 2
Some other (public!) forums believe this might just be the original album and it's bonus tracks remixed in 5.1 surround sound. I'm hoping it's a mix of live tracks recorded on the Torpedoes tour.

In any case, once I figure out the track list, I'll decide if I should buy it. I was in this same state for "Who Sell Out: Deluxe Edition" and I ended up buying it and enjoying the mono mix very much so.

If it has even half of the stuff you've mentioned then I'm buying it. That's the era of the Heartbreakers where I first became a big fan of theirs and it's still one of my favorites by them.
