Isn't there some speculation that the photo of Paul with his 'MMT' bass on the Sgt Pepper cover set is a fake of some sort?
The headstock appears to be mapleglo in that photo (or I guess, sanded back to the maple and walnut woods), whereas the headstock is fireglo in all other film footage from 1967 and early 1968. Not to side track into whether it's fake or not, but does anyone know the story there?

I think that Pepper photo of Paul with the Rick is definitely a fake. As you mentioned, the headstock is the giveaway.
