Brammy:
Those Cuban heel Beatle Boots were both overpriced and dangerous. A wearer could easily turn an ankle over because of the built-up Cuban heels. As it happened, they weren’t around for too long as we soon switched to Chelsea boots, which were both cheaper and more comfortable …

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chelsea_boot

In British pre-decimal ‘old money’ coinage 75/11 stands for 75 shillings and 11 pence. With 12 pence then to a shilling that makes it a penny short of 76 shillings. Now back then there were 20 shillings to a British Pound which in today’s money makes 75/11 worth £3.80. In 1963-64 I was in my late teens and being paid £14 a week (before taxes). So, for me it was either one or the other because I couldn’t afford both and, with cost and comfort in mind, I was a Chelsea boot wearer.

Proves the old adage:
Pedestrian to Cabbie: "How do you get to Carnegie Hall?"
Cabbie's reply, "Practice, practice, practice!"
