Maybe, but look at his fretting hand position: except for the thumb, because the neck is so narrow, the fingers are in the perfect "relaxed C" shape so only the point on each of the fingers between where the fingertip ends and the fingerprint begins touches the strings.

Scott, at the end of the day this instrument did not seem to be the ticket to ride for Lennon as it was rarely used to record or perform. I was surprised to see such a great photo of him with the guitar.
