Hell, I'm 51. A couple of years ago, I was invited as a guest by a mutual friend to come down and hear a band that a few of my friends knew about, but I didn't. Good band. Mostly '80's covers, which I really enjoy. My wife and I showed up, and being on the guest list we were escorted to a good table - cover was waived for us. Most of the crowd was about ten years younger than I was, all local guys and their girls. One by one, all of these guys, and a lot of the crowd who also played in various bands or were with folks who did, in turn made their way to us and said they came to see me twenty years ago when I was with a band that played a lot locally, and each said how glad they were to see me and how I influenced their playing. When I was playing all the downtown clubs back then, they would all have been just barely old enough to get in legally, and I was in my early 30's. No joke. I didn't have a clue as to who any of them were, but my wife and I didn't have to pay for a single drink all evening.

Now, if that's not "being out of touch," nothing is. I believe Macca's rendition absolutely.
