Acid's a hell of a drug.

I agree, I find them pretty awful as well. Especially the Rocky Strat -- ugh.

(note - what's up with the horrible Beatle guitar paint jobs? Rocky looks like a 2nd grader painted it and John's J160E looked stupid IMO. Clapton & Jack Bruce's Fool-painted guitars were pretty cool though...)
I think McCartney sanded it off because it was flaking off. Rocky is my least favorite of the three but still cool. The Lennon "Fool" is trippy. I like all three.

Not at all. McCartney's looks more like a kid painted it. Colin, have you ever seen the back?

No, but I've seen the front. They both look terrible.

What you guys said; who paints a perfectly lovely Daphne Blue Strat with multiple shades of poster paint? Someone who's extremely high. . .

The Fool SG looks better because George and Paul were extremely high DIY-ers, while Clapton hired an artist. :D
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

"Uh, I like the double bounds. . . ."

It's silver.

When I painted my 4001S-LH 15 years ago I used teal as I wasn't looking to copy McCartney's exactly but to just do something similar. I like teal, had a can of it sitting around, so that's what I went with.
There are Asian copies with MY paint job, both full-size basses and miniatures. It's not just the teal but a couple other "stylistic anomalies" that show they copied my bass, not McCartney's. I'm thinking about getting one!
