Red Rose Speedway--Great Album

I've always loved Red Rose Speedway, but my fave Macca albums are Ram, and then everything from Band on the Run through to Speed of Sound.

I must have listened to Red Rose Speedway 1000 times since it came out, but I listened to it the other day, and I heard it like I'd never heard it before--yes, I was having Rutles Tea, but I always have Rutles Tea. I zeroed in on the arrangements, and at once, I saw the genius of the songwriting and those arrangements. The album is deceptively simple; there are some incredible transitions and an interplay between melody and counter melody. It's a complex album--and McCartney's strength is to make it all seem simple so that you don't notice the technicality of it (we all know he values his intuition rather than a knowledge of theory).

I think it's a terribly overlooked album by both fans and critics.
