330/6 (2005) & Vox AC4TV

Post by ricardo_vicente »

Call this preeching to the converted if you like but just in case you'd temporarily forgotten how great a Rickenbacker 330 can sound and what a great marriage Rickenbacker and Vox can make ...

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/liyq-VD7cAM&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/liyq-VD7cAM&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/youtube]

... man, I need another one of these guitars!

Splash, grind, and chime. Was the microphone picking up a bit of your strumming or was the Vox letting that clear string-string detail come through? Sounded great! Just guitar-cable-amp?

You know I can't quite decide myself. The amp was very loud in the room but, on the other hand, I was close to the camera. I guess that's a "dunno".

Yep, guitar-cable-amp and the natural reverb of my stone-floored room.

Thanks for watching and listening. I was just enjoying myself and thought I'd share.

You know, I think that the mic is picking up the acoustic sound of plectrum on strings whilst I'm doign the more energetic strumming.

I'll just have to turn the amp up louder next time!

You won't regret it! Not suitable for playing whilst the wife is asleep though. I'd stick to the acoustic 330 sessions.

That sounds sweet, Richard. Just terrific! I might have to have one of each of those, too. :)

Really great for the money. I only really use it for recording and it gives me the kind of 60s, short-scale, semi-acoustic sound I was looking for. Not the most versatile but it does the one sound I was looking for. And it looks cool.
I also find the small humbuckers nice and clear for such a low-priced bass.
I had to have the machine heads replaced though because the plastic peg on one split very quickly. That's the only negative so far but it wasn't entirely a surprise.

Just kidding, good work.
