Rush Hemispheres prelude

Post by 2112 »

This is my first youtube vid. Sorry about the audio being a bit hot.
I recorded this last September and used my 1980 Rickenbacker 4001, burgandyglo and I also used my Moog Taurus pedals.

I hope you like it.

That was AWESOME!

Now I'm going to have to dig through my vinyl records to get the rest of it. It's been many years since I've heard that and you were dead on. The Rick wasn't bad either :)

Thanks.

Very nice! Great tone too! :D
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Funny you should say this, 'cause I did this recently myself...I only had 'Hemispheres' on cassette (and no cassette player right now) and someone bought me the CD for Christmas....so I have been "re-learning" it...good aerobics for the fingers.... :D

that was fantastic! i have recently been reacquainting myself with rush, and had forgotten how great they were/are...it's amazing comparing the differences of tone that different rickbass users get....

It was cool to see it back for A Passage To Bangkok on the S&A tour.
I saw seven nights of that tour, but only twice could I really hear that bass. It's like they didn't want it too up front in the mix or else the "Why don't you use your Rick?" requests would be out of control.
Geddy brought it out to shut everyone up!
