McGuinn Tabs in Vintage Guitar

Post by 8mileshigher »

The latest edition of Vintage Guitar magazine (cover below) that just came out this week, has the guitar work of Roger McGuinn featured in its "Fret Prints" tutorial section, with several tabs of his solo's like Feel A Whole Lot Better and Eight Miles High, etc. Check it out.

Might be interesting to find a copy of the magazine.

Hi, Rich:

Are the tabs accurate for each song? In other words, is is worth it to track down the magazine? :D

Ditto on what Jeff says .... VG offers some excellent subscription prices for one of the best publications around, that caters to cool guitars, basses, amps and effects pedals and informative stuff on luthier's restoration projects and other things that will likely perk your interest. Interviews with interesting and famous musicians, producers and the like. Stories about "famous" guitars and basses once owned by stars of yesteryear. Besides that, VG reviews current music releases and gear, and can help anyone be more relevant on today's music and gear scene.

Regarding the McGuinn tabs, I think they look like useful tabs that correspond to the tunes, according to my familiarity with these tunes. Like most magazine tabs, they only concentrate on a few bars, like an intro or a solo. They are not tabs of 100% of every line of any individual song.

No they are only partial tabs of the solos. Why even bother?
