Thanks Gary!! Really enjoyed watching "Bells" and "Feel A Whole Lot Better". Also, "So Ya Wanna...." was a nice bonus. Really appreciate the time you take to make and post there!! :D :D

So you want.. what a great rockin' riff that is , always was! Wonder why nobody put that one to life again. Any other versions than the original ?
Material for a wild cover.

Hi Alex,

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and Nazareth covered this song a while back. The Move, Patti Smith and more recently Pearl Jam (they do it live) and there have been others. Yea, it is a great song. :D :D

When I posted the Byrds Songbook PDF on this sub-forum about a year ago, I thought it was a major breakthrough (words and chords to just about every Byrds release; it seemed long overdue). But I knew something was missing. That something has been supplied by Gary Jacob, with his banjo-style Byrds lessons, which unlock the mystery behind Roger McGuinn's sound.

As you all know, Gary uses McGuinn's preferred fingerpick arrangement from the early 60's: a plastic thumbpick and metal fingerpicks on the index and middle fingers (McGuinn later shifted to holding a flatpick between his thumb and forefinger, and moving the metal picks to his middle and ring fingers).

I think a combination of the Songbook PDF and Gary's YouTube lessons is the best way to go for anyone trying to emulate the Byrds' sound. It's not easy learning for all of us, but kudos to Gary, for taking the study of McGuinn's guitar playing to a new level. 8)

Thank you for the kind words my friend. Roger McGuinn's is my guitar guru!!! I really love posting these videos on the forum. If been playing his style for at least 40 some years. The finger picking sometimes is very frustrating, but you have to stay with it. Once you start getting it you will play no other way. Its a blast, and so different than the way most people play. Once again I'll keep putting videos up as long as I don't wear out my welcome. I think the next video I put up is just gonna focus on the right hand. Different rolls etc. No specific song. I think that mite start people out in the right direction. I'll try to get it posted this week. Once again thank you all for watching and the kind words. Gary
