That would be great, thanks Gary. I am old enough to remember when those songs came out and I was pretty sure the original "Feel" had some finger picking licks or an overdub, although I doubt they did that much of that on the early work. And, of course, Bells does as well. Thank you. Looking forward to it. :D :D

Bells will be posted shortly. I didnt have alot of time to really go into depth on this one. You should be able to grab alot of it tho. Ill go into depth when I have more time. This is a tough one to explain. Gary

Feel a whole lot better is pretty straight forward. They didnt have alot of tracking for overdubs. When Mcguinn plays the solo there is no overdubbing behind him just Croz Hillman and Clarke. Get the stereo mix and pan the balance left or right and you will hear it. Gary. Ill Post that solo next week for you. Its not bad just position licks.

Thanks, Gary! I really enjoyed the lessons on "We'll Meet Again," "All I Really Want to Do," "The Times They Are A' Changin'" and "Bells of Rhymney." You've set me straight on several parts of the "Bells of Rhymney" solo that I'd got wrong.

I must say that after listening to "Feel a Whole Lot Better" (both the Byrds' version and Tom Petty's subsequent carbon copy) hundreds of times, I was very much under the impression that McGuinn (and Petty) did some 12-string multi-tracking on that solo. I'll have to listen to the stereo version through some headphones and see if I can sort that out.

Just a reminder for you to post your lesson on "If You're Gone" when you have the chance. I know it's not as popular as the other songs you've tackled, but it's difficult enough that it warrants some close instruction.

You continue to make vital contributions to this forum!

Thank you,

Robert

Nice tone. You must be using a good compressor. Which one?

Jim, I'm using a fender deluxe reverb and a Byrd's JB2. It don't sound to bad I guess for using a telephone to record it. Also using Thomisic Flatwounds. Gary
