Mcguinn Treblebooster Janglebox Gretsch Questions

Post by captainvideo »

Roger has stated he used a Gretsch 6122 Country Gentleman on Have You Seen Her Face. It could have been a '64/65 model that had a supertron in the neck(seen playing at Monterey) or Crosby's Harrison Spec Country Gent with two Filtertrons.
It's know that Roger had a Treblebooster in his Ric 12. I'm wondering if he had something similar with his Gretsch as to it almost sounds like a Telecaster on that recording of Have You Seen Her Face.

Does anyone have further info?

Thanks

I thought Roger played a Telecaster on that song. It's very twangy. I have seen a photo of him playing a sunburst Tele live, but Roger himself told me it was a Gretsch, and he bought it, naturally, because of The Beatles. I can't answer your question though. Roger is very private about what guitars he actually owns. He wouldn't tell me how many Ricks he had, for instance. I do know he has a Light Show that he takes out occasionally.
