One Hit?...I Wonder.....

Post by vynesmusic »

Back in 1966, my band , The Vynes, recorded the song featured below----payola at the time was up to $250 per late night spin on a very famous radio station in Chicago......but in Northern Indiana, it was a FRACTION of that price, and the Vynes were on the Top ten for some AM station in the Purdue University area for A MONTH! FAME.....FORTUNE....GIRLS...... uh....well...we paid our way onto their top ten...what a country.....the song below, "I MIght Be Free" was not written by me, but by a better songwriter at the time, John Guill, who holds the copyright on it. We recorded at a Cicero polka studio that just had 2 track equipment put in----when we got there it was down to 1 track.....it sounded awful, but we were on cloud nine......

This version is my personal remake of that tune, recorded at Studio Z......included here for your perusement....
