Gretsch G7686 Axe Chet Atkins Reissue Discontinued

Post by brianeharmonjr »

This is a brand new Gretsch G7686 Axe guitar with the original Gretsch hard case and all the paperwork. I just received this from UPS a few days ago, but something else has come along (330VP BB) and I need to sell this. This is a discontinued model that I happened to find at a store who had one sitting in their back room. It hadn't ever been on their sales floor. It is in ABSOLUTE MINT condition without a mark on it. I have only taken it out of it's case to take pictures, tune it up, and try it out. It still has the plastic on the pickguard and pickups and it has all the paperwork. This is an outstanding, and incredibly unique guitar, but as I said, something else has come along that I need to get. So, my loss is your gain. These are becoming harder and harder to find. There was one on ebay last week that sold for about $2000 before shipping, and it hads some dings on it. This one is absolutely flawless, and anything in the pictures that looks like a mark is only a reflection. The guitar is solid wood with a carved top and back, 2 Gretsch humbuckers, 2 volume and 2 tone controls with a 3-way pickup selector switch, wrap-around adjustable bridge, zero-fret, ebony-stained rosewood fingerboard, Grover tuning machines, fully bound on the top and back of the body, the fingerboard, and the headstock. Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have. I currently have it on ebay, but will end the auction immediately and sell to a forum member as I'd rather deal outside of ebay. I'm asking $1700 Shipped and Paypal'd inside the continental US.

How about you just tell me where the 330VP BB is instead?

Sorry John, but I've already got money down on it. I'm thinking about putting hi-gains in it, though, because I've got 2 Rics with toasters right now, and none with hi-gains.

Just kidding Brian - glad you finally found yourself a COY 300 series (and a Blue Boy to boot!). A pickup swap is fine, but keep the originals around in case you sell the guitar - the fact that it came from the factory with the toasters adds to its value a bit IMO.

If it doesn't sell by tonight, I'm going ahead with a trade. I'd rather sell, so contact me today if you want it.
