is this a Gretsch bridge? or Teisco?

Postby (Zurdo) » Wed Nov 28, 2012 8:42 pm

bought this recently, sure looks like a "Gretsch" roller bridge, but the mounting "base" looks more like a Rickenbacker bridge base, otherwise could this be a Gretsch roller bridge for a solid body?? (no markings of any kind).

Hi,
looks like a Gretsch space controller Bridge with an uncommon metal base.

Regards

Thanks Peter, I thought it was a copy from a Teisco. Must be from a solid body Gretsch from the 1970's, since a semi-hollow Gretsch would have an arched wood base.

That's an overseas manufactured bridge. A Gretsch Space Control bridge would have larger brass bridge saddles instead of the smaller chromed ones. The Astrojet had a similiar metal base to this bridge, but again, the larger brass saddles.
